Chablis and Sancerre
a small group tour
The Very First Wine Tour is in (none other than) France
After long consideration on where to go on my first guided-group wine tour, I've selected a region I've myself never visited. And the decision couldn't have been easier. The French regions of Burgundy and Loire valley are world renowned and with all my travels I've never been. And still more embarrassing, is that I love their wine. Et voilà!
To create this trip, I've partnered with the planning team at Intrepid Travel to build this custom itinerary. And backed by their years of experience in guided tours - I couldn't be more please to present this opportunity to you today.
Come, spend a week with me and decide for yourself which you enjoy more. Is it the potentially fuller body of Chablis - which is a child of the Chardonnay - pouring out of a steel cask but providing a richer and deeper experience to an otherwise light summer wine? Or will it be the lighter more acidic Sancerre - born of Sauvignon Blanc grapes - naturally the epitome of France and deeply rooted in history?
Oh and don't worry. I've packed a lot more than the rivalry of the two wines in to the schedule. We will take a tour around some of the historic locations of the region, visit Versailles and even take a foodie diversion with a cooking class at the end of our tour. Remember to save a bottle from the trip and share it on our last evening together!
